Titan is Warforged meaning he is a member of a sentient race of constructs originally designed for war. Warforged trace their existence to House Cannith where the first of their kind were forged for participation in what was called the Last War-the last major conflict between the five nations of Khorvaire. The warforged were great fighters, never tiring, and relentlessly following orders but with the ability to adapt to quickly changing circumstances. The Warforged never questioned their role in the war which, while making them excellent soldiers, left them completely unprepared for life after the conflict. In fact, when they were given their freedom after the war, many stood, unmoving, for days until they were ordered to disband. Today, some Warforged seek to emulate their past by joining military organizations. Others expand their minds by attending schools and religious institutions. In general, Warforged can be found in most occupations. Unfortunately, while the Warforged are officially considered people, they are frequently the targets of anger. This is because to many, they are seen as reminders of a particularly dark time. To make matters worse, Warforged are commonly misinterpreted due to their lack of facial expressions. It is not unusual for Warforged to appear disinterested when in fact they are paying their full attention. These misunderstandings, as well as an anger at what some believe to be the subjugation of their kind, has led to the establishment of a Warforged society led by a “rogue” Warforged commonly known as The Lord of Blades. This society is located in what is now called the Mournland. The area is all but inhabitable for organic creatures as it is the site of a major catastrophe that obliterated the entire kingdom of Cyre on “the Day of Mourning” during the Last War. After killing most of the immediate inhabitants, the disaster mutated (and continues to do so) anything organic that had survived and created what are now known as living spells. Should an organic creature enter this place now, they will also find their healing abilities diminished. While the Mournland seems inhospitable to most creatures, to the Lord of Blades, it was the perfect place to establish a city of Warforged. A place from which he could begin working to unite all Worforged under a common banner and to remove human dominance from the surrounding kingdoms. The Lord of Blades believes in the superiority of those born of magic and steel and has begun to attract an alarming number of followers. At the moment there even exists an entire city populated only by Warforged. This is where the story of Titan begins.
It is rumored that the Lord of Blades stumbled upon an intact creation forge in the Mournland. This is partially true. With the help of sympathetic psiforged (warforged with extremely powerful psionic abilities) he was able to repair the forge and learn how to operate it. While a lack of resources continues to be of concern, he soon acquired enough followers to construct their civilization. Since its completion he has turned his attention primarily to building an army. Currently there are no organic creatures aware of his plans. Titan was brought into existence sometime after the initial building of the city. The first being he encountered after awakening was the psiforged who tended the creation forge. After recovering from the initial shock of existence, he was directed to training where he would be educated and his abilities would be tested and observed for, what seemed to him, an eternity. Something that continually stood out to Titan was the appearance of everyone around him. All other Warforged were smaller and, he noticed, they were made of and used different materials. He knew he was one of them (As he had been told so) but this difference was perplexing. All would be revealed however, as one day, when he walked into the training arena, there stood the Lord of Blades himself (still smaller he noticed) and four other individuals that looked very similar to himself. They were all of similar size and material and, like him, possessed their own unique weapons. The Lord of Blades stepped forward and informed them that he had personally overseen their construction. They were, he said, the greatest Warforged yet in existence and that they were made for a specific purpose. Their purpose was to ensure the survival of their kind but to do so their civilization needed both resources and knowledge. This would require them to be sent to places so far away as to be almost incomprehensible. They were told they would be contacted when he felt they had gathered what information was needed. When the meeting concluded several psiforged entered the room and, one by one, opened portals which each of the five stepped through. To this day, that meeting was the greatest moment of his life. Not only had he met his creator and the one responsible for their civilization but he had been given a great purpose as well. As Titan stepped through his portal there was a blinding flash and then dark..
